The  crisis rocking the Campaign for Democracy, CD, has taken a new dimension  following the sack of its national executive council, led by Comrade Abdul Usman Bako, by members of the group from various states and units from across  the federation.

In place of the sacked exco, a five-member Caretaker Committee,  to be headed by Comrade Raji Rasheed Oyewumi, has been set up, with a charge to organize a national convention that will elect new officers.

The group, in an eight- point communique issued  at the end of an emergency general meeting held  at its Idimu, Egbeda secretariat , Lagos, weekend,  explained that its action followed  the  adoption of the report of a five-man  investigative committee which probed the activities of  the sacked executive council.
