THE PFN National President, Rev. Felix Omobude, while rejecting the NGO Bill, said: “Our position generally is that that law does not stand to our progress”.

According to him, several NGOs affiliated to different Pentecostal ministries were already studying the contents of the bill with a view to challenging it.

Asked what the PFN had against the Bill, Omobude argued, “Most of the NGOs that tend to help humanity are church-oriented. Many Pentecostal ministries have NGOs that help humanity.

“You mean they have to get permission from Abuja before they do that? Generally, that Bill is undemocratic. The nation has enough laws to take care of whatever they are seeking to address with the proposed law”.

Asked to advise the proponents of the law, he said: “My advice generally to those who drag the state of governance is that they should take into consideration the multi-ethnic, the multi-religious nature of the country and they should think of the common man.

“It’s the common man that the bill will hurt more. They should ensure that they don’t just make laws thinking of just those at the top”.
