By Nwabueze Okonkwo

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA has tasked the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to ensure that the November 18 Anambra governorship election was conducted in a free and fair manner, at all cost.

Vice President of the Council, Alhaji Dauda Ajagu who sounded this note of warning in a press statement he issued yesterday in Onitsha, also warned politicians to stop using other peoples’ children as thugs, while their own children are in abroad reading one course or the other in various tertiary institutions.

Ajagu urged the candidates to desist from campaigns of calumny against each other as according to him, “Taking God first, let everybody be vigilant and careful about this election and I want both Muslims, Christians and pagans in this state to unit and never to allow non indigenes of the state to come from outside to instigate us here”.
