THE Alliance for Democracy, AD, Candidate, Udoka Obiji Gabriel has pleaded with the people of the state to give women a chance by voting for her. Mrs Gabriel, the only female candidate for the forthcoming election, spoke after reeling out her 9-point agenda for the state. She listed law and order, institution of governance, commerce and Industry, free education at all levels, free healthcare, erosion control, mass housing, information and technology, as well as youth and sports development as areas she would accord priority, if elected.

SO many laws, orders and directives have always been made by successive governments in the Pacesetter State. Starting from the tenure of late Chief Bola Ige, Dr. Omololu Olunloyo, late Kolapo Ishola, Alhaji Lamidi Adesina, Senator Rashidi Ladoja and Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala and then to the incumbent governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, all had tried to keep roadside traders away from major roads to prevent accidents which sometimes record heavy casualties. But, as much as they tried, people always have a way of circumventing those laws which, if carefully considered, are for their benefit.

Consul-General of Republic of China in Lagos, Mr. Chao Kiaoliang, has assured Nigerians of smooth issuance  of visas to applicants who would  want to travel to China for either business or leisure .

Lagos—A 15-year-old student and 11 other minors, students of a Junior Secondary School in Mushin, were, yesterday, charged before an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s court by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja, for alleged cultism.

YENAGOA—MINISTER of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, has said that plans were underway by the Federal Government to establish an Oil and Gas Equipment and Machinery Development Institute in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, as part of efforts by the current administration to move the economy from resource to knowledge based economy.
