NATIONAL president  of Pentecostal Fellow-ship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev. Felix Omobude has directed all leaders in the Pentecostal community to use the occasion of the 57th independence anniver-sary, to lead their congregations in prayers for the nation and leaders at all levels of government. 

Enugu State House of Assembly has pledged to work more closely with the executive arm to fast track development and political stability in the state. The House also said it will work even more closely with the Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi-led administration on policies that address unemployment and youth mobilization.

There is a great role waiting for a player in Nigeria. Emotions ran wild as we held hands,standing on our feet and singing that more meaningful and soul-stirring old national anthem of Nigeria. I looked at the eyes of Pastor Tunde Bakare as tears rolled down his ears .We had just by acclamation agreed on the last of the over 600 resolutions in an assembly of North and South of Nigeria without making use of the accursed ballot box.

The routine is fairly the same. Early in the week, every week, I try to sit or lie still for a while and allow my mind to dwell on things I had witnessed, observed or read during the week. Sometimes my mind is crowded, in which case I silently pray for divine help in choosing a topic. Sometimes, on very rare occasions I must admit, the topic chooses itself with such clarity and force that I can’t wait to get to the computer. On some other occasions, it is the other way round. I am blank. I lie or sit there sometimes for a stretch, pondering what to write on.

Nigeria is a beautiful Country, naturally endowed and blessed by God. It is definedby political borders and boundaries without collective purpose and vision, and national ideology. Today’s political actors are more concerned about what they can get from the Nation than what to offer to build it. 

FORMER governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido has become the first presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to have an intimidating campaign office in the South East for the 2019 elections. The magnificent two-storey edifice consisting of six flats and adjoining offices located at Umuokpu area of Awka, was donated to the presidential hopeful by an indigene of the community, Chief Arize Ekelem, who is a close confidant of Lamido.
