A father of 6, who can no longer perform his duties as a head of the family and husband, lost his job as a result of the ailment.

Narrating his ordeal to Vanguard, his wife Virginia Obanigba, a petty trader, said she has been running from pillar to post in an effort to care for and cater for the family.

“My husband lost his job as a result of this ailment and we have spent all he had saved just to ensure he gets well. Our efforts have not really yielded any positive result, as his situation keeps deteriorating,”  she said.

She recalled that Emmanuel’s predicament started in February 2015 when he developed typhoid fever. “I took him to the hospital where several tests were carried out on him and treatment commenced but my husband did not get better and medical bills were accumulating. My husband has been discharged from the hospital because we could no longer afford to pay for the bills. At the moment, he is equally having partial paralysis.

“Initially, we went to three private hospitals, then the Igando General Hospital, Lagos and Ota General Hospital in Ogun State.

“I am crying because we have been in this trouble since 2015, it is God in heaven that has been sustaining us. We cannot afford dialysis or even pay for the drugs and treatment because there is no money. We are from Edo State. I have been living with fear, my husband now breathe with difficulty.

“Now, we are financially drained and I need to take my husband back to the hospital (crying). We don’t have the money to do so and he cannot even walk with no option than to appeal for funds from well-meaning Nigerians, public and private organisations, as well as humanitarian groups to save his life so he can go for surgery.

If you are touched by his plights, please send your donation to Access Bank. Emmanuel Sunday Obanigba 0695160180.”
