It is imperative to place issues in their right perspectives concerning the preaching of many pastors today. Many of these servants of God claim to be followers of Jesus Christ but fail to impact the teachings of Jesus on their followers.

Christianity came into existence after the death of Jesus Christ. Jesus was like a president and his disciples or followers were his ministers. Therefore, it was mandatory that his teachings should be seriously followed and carried out more than the teaching of his ministers.

Even some of the followers did not know Jesus because they came into prominence several years after Jesus’ death. Before the death of Christ, he said some people would claim they were doing signs and wonders in his name. He said, he would denounce and call them workers of iniquities (Matthew 7:21-23). It is possible that those that wrote the Bible were among the people Jesus denounced. Remember that Paul said he was still pursuing it and he did not know if he could make heaven. He did not know Christ before his conversion.

Brethren, those that are preaching salvation do not show people the right way; they are casting people into hell fire. Anyone that preaches heavenly kingdom preaches salvation. What is salvation? Salvation is about having something in abundance and having access to God.

People may be preaching about salvation and yet do not get the salvation because they fail to preach about heaven.

Most of his teachings can be found in the Scripture, Matthew 5, 6, 19 and Luke 19. These are what the followers of Christ need to follow. Imagine Apostle Paul advised and canvassed for adoption of celibacy if it is possible and if it was not possible the men should have wives (I Corinthian7:1; 7:8-9; 7:26)

Consider if celibacy was possible then there would be no child bearing and in turn the world would perish. Whereas God said in Genesis 1:28 “…Be fruitful and increase in number.”

Jesus Christ who Paul claimed he was following preached that husbands should not divorce their wives except they commit adultery (Matthew 19:9). Paul’s teaching was not the same as Jesus’ teach-ing.

Furthermore Jesus Christ did not preach prosperity and salvation. He was preaching heavenly kingdom. He made the assertion in Matthew 6:25-34 “…Therefore do not worry, saying what shall we eat? Or what shall we drink? Or what shall we wear? For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

The above Bible passage tells that Jesus was concerned about the heavenly kingdom. People cannot leave the teachings of Jesus and go for the teaching of Peter, Paul or John.

There is need to firstly digest Jesus’ teachings before any other teaching. Some of those who wrote books in the Bible were not absolutely loyal to him; even some betrayed him and were nowhere to be found during Christ’s tribulations.

Some in their books claimed the cross was carried by another person. Many of them did not know Jesus very well. Their contributions to the Scripture did not portray them as Jesus’ elects. Brethren I want to emphatically inform you that those that do not worry about what they shall eat, drink or wear normally get all these things with ease.

This is based on the experience gathered in the course of my pastoral activities. I do not worry about worldly things, all I care about in my words and deeds is the need to make heaven and it is real.

A lot of pastors and heads of churches do not preach about heavenly kingdom but acquisition of material and worldly things. What is the teaching of Christ? One of his teachings is that rich people should sell all their possession; give them to the poor and follow him. Until the pastors start preaching about this matter, they are not preaching about heavenly kingdom. This is because many rich people acquired their riches illegimately.

It is difficult for such people to return their ill-gotten wealth. And if this is not done, then the preachers are not teaching the truth but misleading them.
