The Federal Government yesterday said it would mandate its Ministries, Directorates and Agencies, MDAs, to buy and read daily papers digitally.

Minister of Communications Commission, Adebayo Shittu, said the innovation of e-paper was timely and described it as the latest revolution in communication that Nigeria cannot afford to connect with if it wishes to achieve global digital revolution.

Shittu was speaking as special guest at the launch of E-Paper Vendor by a Nigerian organisation – Be Better Foundation. He was represented by the Special Adviser on Digital Optimisation, Akeem Yusuf

He said, “We are pleased with the innovation and creativity by Be Better, promoters of E-Paper Vendor because the world is getting digital every day. Nigeria is proud of you.

“Nigeria cannot be left behind in this digital revolution but to be part of it as counterparts across the world.

“The E-newspaper is easy to access, which Nigerians in the Diaspora could also get in touch with what is happening back home, including those who travel out of the country, it is economical, saves time, quickly disseminates new and enlightens the subscriber on issues of interest to him or her.

“As a government, we are committed to promoting creative ideas and products like the PDF Newspaper Service provided by the E-Paper Vendor.
