Bauchi State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Garba Sarki, has said the state received N109 billion from the federation account from June 2015 to May 2017.
The commissioner, who disclosed this yesterday in Bauchi while fielding questions from newsmen, said the government expended N110.6 billion in the last two years on payment of salaries and other expenditures, adding that the remaining balance was about N1.6 billion.
He also disclosed that N6.2 billion was generated as internally generated revenue, IGR, in 2015, but noted that the account for 2016 had not been released yet.
He said: “We all know that the economic recession is biting hard as all state governors are struggling to meet the needs of their citizens. Bauchi State is doing its best and very soon the situation will improve.”
He said the ministry had, during the period under review, procured 91 vehicles.
