When you mention Delta state, the thing that easily comes to the mind of many is militancy. But, a critical assessment of the state  reveals that the state is blessed with abundant talents, many who has excelled in many areas of the endeavor. One of them is Amb. Solomon R. Okowa, a business man, dedicated writer and film maker who has strong passion for entertainment. He is one of the few Deltans who sees talent as the biggest priority for wealth creation and as such dedicated to invest in the identification and development of talents, especially in the youth to further the eradication of youth restiveness in the society.

As a writer and a film maker, he has written several books on transformation and motivation. He has identified, developed/produced and projected some musical artists in the past.

As someone, who derives pleasure in giving his maximum support to talented youths and the entertainment industry  as a whole, he believes that putting such ideas in writing will go a long way in helping . Hence, he took a break from the entertainment sector  and came up with new books that address the needs of the society. They include, Saved for a purpose; The Mirror of God, This is who I am; Believe in yourself and many others. And determined to make an impact, Okowa recently came up with a new book titled, Tears of power.

The high profile informative and educative book that has a lot of lessons for everybody, no matter the age is billed for presentation this weekend in Asaba , Delta State.

Amb. Solomon R. Okowa is not only coming out with the book, the prolific writer will also present another two of his books to the public, Saved for  a purpose and The Mirror of God, This is who I am.

In Tears of power, the author in the 244 page book published by Solo Integrated Conception, Nigeria, brings to the fore the intrigues and power play that go on in many Nigerian homes. Here, he tells the story of a woman(Sarah) who lost the husband to politics, only for her to join politics and unite with the husband.

To many, politics, especially the way it is played in Africa is a dirty game for the dirty minds, it is meant for liars, killers and people who have no fear of God and that is why they go to any length to realise their goal. Little wonder, many have vowed not to be part of it and would not even like somebody close to them to venture into it. This is  due to the negative impacts associated with it , for example broken homes, relationships severed, death etc.

This was the case of Sarah, whose husband, John Omenike, abandoned her and  children because he insisted on joining politics which she objected and they separated. She went on to suffer for many years, but with faith in God and hard work, she was able to be established, and finally find her way into the same politics that ruined her marriage, where she also met her husband again and they reconciled.

The second book, Saved for a purpose is the summary of a true life story of the author. the revelation and physical confirmation of the call of God.

It is about the author’s involvement in a fatal accident and how God saved him. Though, he gave the testimony in the church as well as to close friends, he felt that there is a need to give it to a wider audience, hence the book. In The Morror of God, the author takes a look at the Bible and its importance to mankind and the qualities of leadership.Using the acronym PURPOSE, the author asserts that, before you call yourself a leader, you must first identify who you are and your purpose in life. A life transforming book for all.
