Police nab robbery suspects in Aba

ABA—A suspected robber, Uche Echela, who allegedly shot his victims after dispossessing them of their valuables at Ibenekwu and Emonye streets, Aba, is now in police net as he was caught when one of his gang members mistakenly shot him on the leg.

He was arrested alongside Chinedu Nwachukwu, Michael Ukpai, suspected to be receiving stolen items from the gang, as well as Ngozi Emmanuel, a lady alleged to be the armourer to the gang.

Uche Echela was paraded alongside two other suspected robbers, Tochukwu Ukonu and Ifeanyi Nwokorie, by the Abia State Police Command.

Parading the suspects, Abia State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Leye Oyebade, said the suspects, in company of three other members of the gang, who are now at large, were fingered in the robbery and killing of one Chinonso Nwagbara at Obohia Road by Ibadan Street, Aba, February 19.
