A Warri-based human rights activist,  Tareri Avwomakpa, who claimed to have supported Apostle Johnson Suleiman in January during the cleric’s face-off with the Department of State Services, DSS, has said that he is being victimised.

Appearing before a Magistrate Court in Asaba, Delta State, for allegedly publishing and circulating false news on the social media about Suleiman’s invitation by the DSS, the IPO noted that the accused committed the offence contrary to Section 59 of the Criminal Code Act (5).

The accused, son of popular preacher, Archbishop Avwomakpa, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Chairman, South-South Zone, had earlier been arrested and detained for three days by the DSS.

He tendered some internet/computer printout documents which contained different communications and reactions concerning the defects of the Nigerian government which the accused said he knew nothing about.
