BENIN—YOUTHS of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, have said that with the achievements recorded so far by the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration in its first 100 days in office, the state was set to become the economic hub of the nation.
The state Youth Leader of the party, Mr Valentine Asuen, who disclosed this to journalists shortly after he was introduced by the state chairman of the APC, Mr Anslem Ojezua, said with the number of investors streaming into the state to invest in agriculture, the proposed export processing zone in Gelegele and plans to employ thousands of youths into the state civil service, it has proved that the state is progressing.
It will be recalled that Governor Obaseki had, after his inauguration, said that he would not be lavishing state funds to celebrate his first 100 days in office, as he believed that the people of the state will judge for themselves what will be achieved in his first 100 days and what will be achieved in one year.
However, the APC youth leader, Asuen, said: “Governor Obaseki is a silent achiever. From what we have seen in his first 1000 days, it is obvious that Edo is in safe hands. Going round GRA today, the roads are being rehabilitated while new ones are being constructed in other parts of the state.”
