Kogi to establish 4 unity schools

LOKOJA—Kogi State government is to introduce four unity schools across the three senatorial district of the state.

Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Sunday Olorunleke, gave the hint when he appeared before the state House of Assembly Standing Committee on Education, Science and Technology to defend his ministry’s budget.

Olorunleke, who said the schools will serve as model schools, noted that the proposed 2017 budget would ensure the provision of uniforms, desks and chairs free of charge for all pupils.

He also said there would be renovations and construction of new classrooms, equipping laboratories and e-libraries as well as robust welfare for staff.
