ABUJA – The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has fixed Saturday November 18 for the Anambra state governorship election.
INEC’s National Commissioner in charge of Information, Publicity and Voter Education, Prince Solomon Soyebi announced this at a press conference Thursday night in Abuja.
While the notice of election would be published on July 21, campaigns by political parties would commence on August 18.
The tenure of the Governor of Anambra state expires on March 16, 2018. By the provisions of the electoral act, the earliest date for election into the office is October 18, 2017 and the latest is February 14, 2018.
