In its quest to boost students passion for science and stave off the decline of science-based subjects in secondary schools, FEH Projects Limited has introduced a distinctive blend of self-contained mobile science laboratory with a full range of science equipment.
Speaking during the test run of the mobile laboratory at Agidingbi Senior Grammar School, Lagos, the Director, Corporate Development FEH Projects Limited, Florence Acha-Ukamba said:’’Because students have begun to lose interest in science subjects, we want to make science interesting to students.’’
Acha-Ukamba who disclosed that the mobile laboratory box is 70 per cent lower in price than the usual science laboratory added that the box laboratory is a total replacement for the usual laboratory that is costly and scarce in schools.
She said: ‘’Each SciBox1.0 mobile science laboratory comes with a sensor, software, experimental simulation and learning materials to help teachers and educators demonstrate a wide range of science and ICT activities.’’

She explained that it is fitted with a laboratory-standard Trespa Athlon bench top with curved inset for ease of use.
According to her, the material which has excellent scratch, heat, acid and chemical resistance are fitted with two pull-out bench top extensions, thereby maximizing the usable workshop.
She said: ‘’The SciBox runs on six castors of which two are lockable to enable secure positioning.
‘’There are a wide variety of equipment covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The equipment is supported by a range of ICT options for comprehensive teacher demonstrations, pupil interaction and experimentation.
Having the backings of the Lagos State Ministry of Education, she said: ‘’We have decided to test run the science laboratory box equipment with Ikeja High School, Lagos, Unity School, Oshodi, Lagos and Agidingbi Senior Grammar School, Lagos.’’
Meanwhile, the Directing Acting Principal of Agidingbi Senior Grammar School, Mrs G.U. Nsaka confirmed the Lagos State Ministry of Education’s support of the innovation, adding that before FEH Projects came for the experiment in the school, the Ministry of Education, Lagos State sent a letter to that effect.
