Threat SMS lands girl in DSS trouble

UGHELLI—A female suspect, have been arrested by the Army at Ughelli, Delta State, for allegedly sending a threat text message to an officer attached to 3 Battalion, Effurun.

It was gathered that the suspect, Trinity Ndoro, was trailed to Ughelli, where she was arrested by a team of army personnel and detained at 3 Battalion, Effurun, for three days before being taken to the headquarters of the Department of State Services, DSS, Asaba, for questioning.

Denying the involvement of the suspect, her uncle, Tam Okubo, told Vanguard: “She (suspect) does not even know the army personnel in question and when I spoke with her, she vehemently denied ever sending any threat message to anyone.”

Confirming the arrest of the suspect yesterday, an official at the DSS office, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: “The suspect was handed over to us last Friday, for proper investigation.

“Owing to the nature of the allegation, we will embark on a technical investigation, and if she is found guilty, she would be charged to court for threat to life.”
