A group of notable leaders in Akoko Communities in Ondo State under the aegis of Akoko Consultative Forum, ACF, has drummed support for the candidature of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Dr Olu Agunloye.
The group, led by Prince Festus Oba Ude, said the four Akoko council areas would support their son’s ambition.
He said that considering the recent political development in the parties in the state, it is incumbent on them to rally round their son.
The group said that Agunloye possesses all the qualities of a governor who will be committed to not only the development of the Akoko areas but the entire state.
Rising form a meeting the group berated the decision of some parties “to overlook the aspirants of Akoko extraction in the selection of their governorship candidates.”
They insisted that it was the turn of the region to produce the next governor.
The meeting also expressed concern over the level of development in the four Akoko region and lamented the sorry state of the roads and lack of infrastructures.
Reacting, Agunloye said he wouldn’t take their backing for granted and would do everything in his powers to win the poll.
Agunloye commended the leaders for having the interest of their people at heart and are ready to lead them in the. Right direction.
He promised to deliver the dividend of democracy and put smiles on the faces of the people of the state.
