Dutse—The National President of Magistrates Association of Nigeria, Mr. Sa’idu Safiyanu, has said the group was in support of President Muhammad Buhari’s war against corruption.
Safiyanu told newsmen in Dutse, yesterday, that his association condemns corruption in all its ramifications, and urged the Federal Government to punish givers and takers of bribe.
However, on the crackdown on some judges by the Department of State Services, DSS, he said the proper proce-dures were not followed in their arrest and the search on their houses.
Safiyanu also advised the Federal Government to consider the doctrine of Separation of Powers in the constitution and the independence of the judiciary to enable judiciary function efficiently and effectively.
He said if there was full separation of powers, the judiciary would not act anybody’s script.
