Jos—The judicial commission of inquiry recently set up to by Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong, to investigate financial dealings of his predecessor, Jonah Jang’s eight years tenure has concluded plans to probe the former governor.
Secretary of the commission, Sani Yahaya, who briefed journalists yesterday in Jos disclosed that the commission would kick-start the probe on Thursday.
He assured that all parties would be given fair hearing, stressing that the submission of memoranda was still ongoing.
Though he could not disclose the number of memoranda received so far, he noted that there was positive response to the call for submission.
“We are still receiving memoranda, we want to ensure that everyone who has interest to submit memoranda to the commission is able to do so. We have no preference for anyone, or group of persons.
‘’I can’t tell you the number of memoranda we have collected because we are still in the process, but I can assure you, it will be made known to the public by the Chairman of the commission during our inaugural sitting on Thursday,’’ Yahaya said.
It would be recalled that Governor Lalong inaugurated a six-man judicial commission of inquiry under the chairmanship of Justice Stephen Adah, to investigate the entire financial dealings, including salaries paid to civil servants in the state, by his predecessor.
