The 17th Emir of Borgu Kingdom, Barrister Muhammad Sani Haliru Dantoro,”Kitoro1V”, could not control his emotion at his coronation as he sobbed during the turbaning in remembrance of the immediate past Emir- his father-who passed on exactly a year ago.

With emotional laden voice, while reading his acceptance speech, the Emir spoke about  his last encounter with his father who was receiving treatment in Germany only to receive the news of his death the second day he spoke with him.

“In far away Germany, on Thursday, October 29, 2015 he said to me ‘Marafa, go home and prepare for my return. I want to come home quietly’. A day later, precisely on Friday, October, 30th, 2015 it pleased Almighty Allah to recall Mai Borgu the Great from this life”, the monarch stated0.

“To Allah, the giver and taker of life, we must return all praises for blessing Borgu and Nigeria with the priceless treasure that the late Mai Borgu represents.”

He said his father’s reign was very brief but very remarkable and therefore called on the people of his kingdom to join hands with him for the transformation of the area.
