Abuja – The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather with prospects of early morning isolated thunderstorms over Abuja, Jos, Minna and its environs on Wednesday morning.
This is contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Wednesday.
NiMet predicted that thunderstorms were not unlikely over places such as Jalingo, Kaduna, Nassarawa, Lokoja and Yelwa in the afternoon and evening with day time temperatures of 25 to 31 degree Celsius.
It predicted that the Northern states would experience cloudy condition with chances of localised thunderstorms over Sokoto, Kebbi and Yelwa in the morning.
The agency said that there would be prospects of isolated thunderstorms over Katsina, Kano, Gombe, Yola and Bauchi in the afternoon, with day time temperatures of 30 to 33 degrees Celsius.
According to the prediction, there will be chances of rainfall activities within the country with varying intensities in the next 24 hours.
NiMet also predicted that the Southern States would experience increased cloudiness with chances of localised rains over Port Harcourt and Calabar during the morning hours.
It said that there would be isolated thunderstorms over the inland and coastal cities such as Lagos, Delta, Bayelsa, Ikom, Oshogbo, Akure, Ibadan, Enugu and Awka in the afternoon and evening with day time temperatures of 28- 30 degree Celsius.
