Birnin Kebbi – Alhaji Muhammadu Bashar, the Emir of Gwandu and Chairman of Kebbi Council of Chiefs , has called on Nigerians to pray for peaceful co-existence.
Bashar made the call after the Eid-el-Fitr prayers marking the end of the one-month Ramadan in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.
He also called on the people to remain peaceful and law abiding to enable leaders ensure sustainable development.
The traditional ruler further expressed sympathy with victims of the flood that destroyed property in Birnin Kebbi and Ngaski Local Government Areas.
He appealed to the people to shun vices and idleness in preference to engaging in fruitful ventures, especially farming.
Bashar also called on leaders to promote equity, fairness and the fear of God.
Muslims, who attended the Eid prayers, prayed for peaceful co-existence as well as respect and love for another.
