ABUJA—A former Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and governorship aspirant in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State, Mr. Emmanuel Arigbe-Osula, has dismissed allegations that Governor Adams Oshiomhole was foisting a successor on the party.
Arigbe-Osula, when he called at the national secretariat of the APC to pick his expression of interest form for the governorship primaries also noted that the party cannot afford to lose Edo State.
His assertion came against the background of allegations that that Governor Oshiomhole was tilting the party and government to foist another aspirant, Mr. Godwin Obaseki as his successor.
“Edo State cannot afford not to have an APC government not after the hell we went through before Oshiomhole got in. Oshiomhole has not anointed any candidate, otherwise there would have been no need for primaries. I am close enough to him, and if there is anything like that, I guess I would have even been the anointed candidate,” he stated.
