A 56-year-old luxury bus driver, who allegedly crushed one of his passengers to death during a scuffle Monday in Ojota area of Lagos, has been arrested along side his bus conductor, one Okwudili Odo.
The bus driver, Eze Gabriel, and his conductor were alleged to have pushed the deceased, identified simply as Sunday, out of the moving vehicle, before the bus rammed over the passenger, who died on the spot.
The bus, belonging to Bonny Way transport as gathered, took off from Jibowu Park at about 11p.m., heading for Abuja, but trouble reportedly started after two of the passengers started arguing over who was to sit in a particular seat.
A passenger in the bus, who gave her name as Uju Mbanefo, said one of the passengers was discovered not to have the bus ticket which usually indicated the seating position.
In an interview with Vanguard, the driver denied pushing the deceased out of the bus.
