There is confusion in the ranks of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following the investigation of some of its leaders by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the sharing of the N700 million presidential campaign funds.
Just last Monday, the former chairman Board of Trustees of the party, Chief Tony Anenih made his presentation to the EFCC in Port Harcourt through a letter where he informed the Commission of his ill health and had to fly to London for medicals.
But the chairman of the party, Chief Dan Orbih was not that lucky as he was detained for two days by the Commission.
However, it was said that both Orbih and the Coordinator of Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign in the state, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu have presented to the Commission details on how the N700 million was shared in the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.
Vanguard learned that some of the party executives are now living in fear because of plans by the EFCC to invite some of them for questioning with a view to ascertaining whether they actually received the money at the Local Government level.
