Afmobi Nigeria, owners of Palmchat (a social media and IM app) and Palmplay (an app store), has announced Ms. Janet Abiodun Lawal as the winner of its N1million #CrazySelfie competition held on Palmchat app.

The competition which was run between December 2015 and January 2016 witnessed entries from all over the country and was promoted on various social media platforms.

On winning the competition, Ms. Janet Abiodun Lawal the visibly elated winner said, “The money received would go a long way in furthering my education and bring me closer to my dream of helping make Nigeria a better country”.

Mr Victor Onwudiwe, Head, Customer Service and User Experience (AFMOBI Group Nigeria) described Palmchat as an app for this generation. He stressed further that due to the recent demands by Phone Users to have a chat app with better features than the conventional chatting app; Palmchat was uniquely designed to ensure extra satisfactory experience from Users of this present generation. He concluded by saying that Palmchat is actually a gift to the social aspect of humanity.

Afmobi Nigeria, also used the medium to officially announce the launch of the newest update of its app (version 5.2)‘Palmchat’ which is available on google playstore. According to the Enterprise Generated Content Manager, Mr Ejodahmen Oseghele, “Palmchat app is fast becoming one of the favourite social media and IM app used by Nigerian youths, because it is driven by rich local content and helps users connect with those around them easily.”

Palmchat app has become one of the most used apps by Nigerian youths with a global user base of about 100 million worldwide subscribers and daily sign ups of over 100 thousand new users joining the family. Afmobi Group Nigeria intends to keep Palmchat app at the top by providing entrepreneurship opportunity for users, through projects like the Ladies First initiative and establishment of PalmClubs in tertiary institutions.
