TO promote best hygiene practices across the country and break the chain of infection, the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LUTH and Dettol, manufactured by Reckitt Benckiser, has encouraged Nigerians to focus on hand hygiene and hygiene of the environment.

Speaking at the launch of Dettol Multi Surface Cleaner and flag off of ‘Clean Naija’ at LUTH, the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee of the hospital, Prof. Olufemi Fasanmade regretted that the level of hygiene had dropped drastically after the Ebola outbreak in the country.

“I believe this Clean Naija programme will bring resurgence to the important place of hand washing in our nation.”

In his remark after demonstrating best way to clean environment at the Accident and Emergency Department of LUTH, the Marketing Director RB West Africa, Oguzhan Silivrili, stated: “In 2014 it was Ebola and last year it was Lassa fever, next year it could be something else.

“We don’t want it to be a silent killer like diarrhoea that kills children under the age of five, that is why we are introducing a new product ‘Multi Surface Cleaner’ MSC which can be use on indoor places and the best thing about this product is that it offer 10 times germ kill, lasting freshness, stain removal and better cleaning solution than detergents.”
