The new Nigeria league season will no longer begin on January 31 with a new date now likely to be after the 2016 CHAN in Rwanda. The CHAN will parade players who feature in their home leagues and it will start on Saturday and end on February 7 with Nigeria making their second appearance in Rwanda.

The Borno chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) on Sunday renewed its call on the state government to implement the N18, 000 minimum wage to all Local Government workers in the state.
