National Association of Ijaw Female Students NAIFS, has described the appointment of Mrs. Ibim Seminitari as acting Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, as a blessing to the Ijaws in particular and the Niger Delta as a whole.
The group in a congratulatory message by Mrs. Kate Ajuwa, National President, said that Seminitari’s achievements in her days as a journalist were unparalleled, adding that she had proved that the girl-child in Niger Delta, despite the hardship, can excel.
Noting that the Seminitari Initiative added colour to the biannual convention of NAIFS by enhancing the proficiency of over 5,000 Ijaw female students in English Language, she said: “We are grateful to God that those who actually know the pains of our people are now in charge of NDDC.
“We are proud that a woman and professional, who identifies with NAIFS’ activities by sponsoring poetry and creative awards with financial reward for students at every NAIFS national convention, has been given a higher position to work for the good of our region.”
