Court upholds Dariye’s election

A Federal High Court sitting in Jos yesterday upheld the participation and election of Sen. Joshua Dariye as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Plateau Central Senatorial District in last December party primaries. It would be recalled that a co-contestant in the race, Mr Alexander Mwolwus had challenged in court the eligibility of Dariye in taking part in the PDP senatorial primaries. Dariye had left the Labour Party (LP) and joined PDP and had won the primary election, beating five other aspirants including Mwolwus.
