Miss Foyeke Akinyemi from Iseyin Local Government of Oyo State has emerged the new Miss Oyo for 2015, the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports. Akinyemi, 22, emerged winner in a beauty contest with 13 others selected across the 14 federal constituencies in the state held at the Premier Hotel in Ibadan on Sunday evening.

“We are looking at all ramifications on how to bring these criminals to book; they have to be treated as criminals and pipeline products thieves.
“The pipelines are the most efficient way of moving products and then for the first time in a very long time we are pushing products all the way to Ibadan. “We intend to move to Ilorin, reduce bridging from Lagos area so that people can go and pick up their products in Ibadan and Ilorin,” Ogbue said.

The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers on Monday says that petrol would soon be available in filling stations across the country. Mr Tokunbo Korodo, the South-West Chairman of the union, told newsmen in Lagos there had been improvement on loading of petroleum at the depots in Lagos.

“What we have decided to do is to cooperate with all states and ask each state to give us 10 cities in their state, 10 festivals and 10 cultural industries. “With this, we can have 360 festivals plus another five in Abuja making 365 festivals in Nigeria. “This will mean that for every day, there will be festival taking place in one part of Nigeria,’’ he said.

An unidentified middle age man was electrocuted at the early hours of Sunday while trying to steal electric cable at a power supply installation in Kaduna. The incident happened at Accra Crescent by LEA Primary School, Unguwar Rimi. The traditional ruler of teh area, Dan Iyar Unguwar Rimi, Alhaji Muhammad Gidado, confirmed the incident.

The ongoing exhibition which is supported by the British Council, featured an installation of palm oil kegs, as well as a collection of intricate wall clocks referencing thought-provoking quotes on the theme of time and change. The exhibition which opened on December 19, 2015 will run till January 9, 2016.
