Ado-Ekiti — Ekiti State House of Assembly, yesterday, in a unanimous resolution, declared Governor Ayodele Fayose Nigeria’s opposition leader, saying it took the decision because the governor had remained the only consistent opposition voice against President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Kola Oluwawole; his Deputy, Segun Adewumi; House Leader, Tunji Akinyele and others lauded Governor Fayose for being “articulate, prudent with finances, consistent and dogged.”

In his response, Fayose said: “They are entitled to their opinion. I am not that kind of a man that can be silenced by anybody.

“Whether they call me opposition leader or not, I will continue to speak as long as it is going to be in the masses’ interest.”

The Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe and Chairman, Ekiti State Traditional Council, Oba Samuel Oyebade, who commended Fayose’s stance, urged the assembly and other Ekiti citizens to continue to give the governor support for him to be able to do more in the service to humanity.
