ASABA—Michael Tidi, Special Assistant on News Media to Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has asserted that the mandate of the Delta State Governor is secure for the next four years.

In a statement made available to newsmen yesterday in Asaba, Tidi urged Deltans to “ignore the trial by media of the wishful Delta opposition, whose chieftains, hatchet men, hirelings and noisemakers in the social, print and electronic media, have riotously declared victory on a matter still pending before the tribunal which is yet to be finally determined.”

He said: “Contrary insinuations of the opposition in Delta, they have no capacity to win the governorship of Delta when pitted against a grassroots politician of legendary pedigree, with experience as Senator Okowa.

“Dr. Okowa’s primary concern is the betterment of the lives of the average Deltan in consonance with the obligations of his mandate for the next four years.”

Okowa’s commitment to the welfare of the entire state as his one and only constituency will turn out to be so profound and impressive that the good people of Delta who massively gave him their vote, will be clamouring for his return come 2019.”
