Students of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA, has left for Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, FAMU, Tallahassee, United States of America, as part of the ongoing collaboration between both institutions.

The students, who are the third set benefiting from the programme, are Adegbulugbe Olugboyega, Abioye Festus, Titiloye Gbemileke, Adebisi Elijah (all of Civil Engineering); Egboh Joseph (Metallurgical and Materials Engineering); Ojo Peter (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) and Ojo Elizabeth (Agricultural and Resource Economics).

Five more students will join them for the January 2016 resumption window. Also, two alumni of the university are already at FAMU for their Masters and Doctorate programmes, respectively.

FUTA’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebiyi Daramola, who described the collaboration as part of the internationalization efforts of the university at a pre-departure send forth programme, urged the students to sustain the excellence set by their predecessors.
