Bayero assumes duty as new MD of NPA
Malam Sanusi Lamido Ado Bayero on Wednesday assumed duty in Lagos as the new Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority(NPA). He took over from the former managing director, Malam Habib Abdullahi at a brief handover ceremony at the NPA headquarters office in Marina. Bayero was appointed as the new Managing Director of the Authority on April 29. In a brief address, the new managing director said he hoped to work at his best with the staff for the benefit of the nation.
Somali Islamists kill government official, bomb AU convoy
Al Shabaab Islamist militants shot dead a government official in Mogadishu on Wednesday and, in a separate attack, bombed an African Union troop convoy outside the capital, police and a spokesman for the group said. Abdifatah Barre, the Deputy District Commissioner of Mogadishu’s Wadajir district, was shot dead in his car.
