An organisation, Leadership and Governance Canada Inc. (LGC) in conjunction with University of Waterloo Professional Development will in September organise a 5-day intensive certificate programme in Executive Leadership Development for some Nigerians and other nationals.
The programme which holds between September 14 – 18, 2015 at the Ontario-Canada’s main Campus of the University, will lead to the award of certificate in Executive Leadership by the Institution.
In a chat with Mr. Sam Adewale, the president of LGC, the programme is designed to transform individuals into outstanding leaders who can contribute more broadly to their firm’s successes.
Along with a select group of business leaders and faculty member, participants will explore best practices, examine new research, share global insights, and test innovative ideas. Participants are also expected to gain leadership skills necessary to optimize their individual performance, maximize their organisational impact and achieve greater levels of confidence and success.
Leadership and Governance Canada Inc. (LGC) is a Leadership Training and Professional Development Institution. It is established to set the standard in Leadership and good corporate governance in public and private sectors geared towards the promotion of socio-economic growth and development. These it has been able to achieve through seminars, trainings, workshops, business and tour guide, provision of scholarships to deserving Nigerian students in Diaspora and recognition of individual and corporate entity that have demonstrated high ethical standards and leadership in their fields of endeavour.
Some of the leaders who have participated in the forum in the past include Ambassador Ojo Madueke, the Nigeria High Commissioner to Canada, Senator Don Meredith of The Senate of Canada , Hon. Jim Karygiannis, Member of Parliament Canada, Professor Modupe Olaogun of York University, Dr. Patricia Williams, Mr. Wale Adesanya, Ambassador Charles Nduka Onianwa, the Deputy High Commissioner of Nigeria to Canada to mention a few.
The 2013 edition focused on the Challenges of Leadership as it affects the growth of the Nigerian economy, politics, education and businesses. The Keynote Speaker at this Forum was Honorable Abike Dabiri-Erewa (Chairperson, Nigeria National House Committee on Diaspora Affairs).
This year’s edition holds in Toronto, Canada, and it will comes up on Sept 25, 2015. As usual, it will attract distinguished and high profile men and women who have made their marks in the business and political world.
