Vanguard’s visit to Enugu-North Local Government Area, where Enugu-East senatorial district result will be announced, showed that INEC officials were still collating results.

The result will show who won among former governor of Enugu State, Chimaroke Nnamani; candidate of Peoples Democratic Change, PDC; incumbent, Senator Gil Nnaji of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Nwabueze Okafor of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and Dr. Ben Nwoye, Enugu State chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC.

An inquiry to ascertain when the electoral umpire will be ready with the result indicated that it might spill over to today as the body appeared overwhelmed with the challenges emanating from the elections.

For Enugu-West senatorial zone where Deputy Senate President,Ike Ekweremadu, was the sole candidate, results was, however, still not ready at the time of filing this report, even as an aide to the DSP noted that they were being tossed around by INEC.

On Enugu-North senatorial zone where result of the winner between Chuka Utazi of the PDP, Joseph Okolagu of APC and Willy Ezugwu of APGA, was being collated, expectant newsmen gathered around the Nsukka Local Government Area secretariat, waiting for the result to no avail.

However,a visit to INEC’s office situated at Independence Layout, revealed that the results for the presidential election were still being collated.
