Yabatech wins 18th NIPOGA

Yaba College of Technology, Yabatech, with a total of 17 gold, 8 silver and 9 bronze medals, has won the 18th Nigeria Polytechnic Games, NIPOGA, held in Bida, Niger State, bring it to seven, the number of times the school has won the title and giving them the most successful school in NIPOGA history

They won gold in athletics, taekwando, scrabble and chess. Second position went to The Polytechnic, Ibadan, who finished ahead of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, while defending champion, Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, came fourth.

Congratulating the contingent and students of the school, the Rector, Yabatech, Mrs. Margaret Kudi Ladipo, said “winning the title has proven Yabatech to be great in both academic and sports.”

The school currently has the best sporting facilities among Nigerian higher institutions. This includes an all covered mainbowl, eight lane tarta track tennis courts basketball courts, volleyball and handball courts, amongst others.
