Two docked for alleged kidnapping

Two men, Emeka Emezue, 46, and Uchenna Akudike, 40, were, yesterday, arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, on a two-count charge of conspiracy and kidnapping.

The accused, residents of 2, Ojuolape St., Magbon, Badagry, Lagos, however, pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Eranus Nnamonu, told the court that the accused committed the offences on November 4 at 4p.m.

Nnamonu said the accused abducted one Chisom Okechukwu and took him to an undisclosed location.

He said: “The defendants waylaid the complainant at 4p.m., on November 4 on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway and forced him into their vehicle. They drove him to an undisclosed location against his will.”

The prosecution said the offences contravened Sections 269 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The Magistrate, Mrs Abimbola Komolafe, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till January 22, 2015 for mention.
