PDP ‘ll take over Edo, says Nat’l Movement

The National Movement of Nigeria has said Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will take over Edo State in 2015 and 2016 elections.

The movement also condemned the statement credited to Mr. Charles Idahosa that the Bini in Edo State were marginalised in the PDP-led Federal Government.
The National Secretary of the movement, Mr. Ikharedia Ihimekpen, who spoke to newsmen in Benin yester-day, called on Idahosa to outlive his tribal and ethnic politics, adding that Edo State had outgrown those primordial politics for politics of unity and development.

Ihimekpen said Edo people voted for Lucky Igbinedion in 1999 and 2003 and also voted for Oyegun in 1990 election not because they were Bini, but for the qualities in them and that Edo people were one irrespective of what part of the state they came from.

The National Movement of Nigeria’s scribe also called on Idahosa to explain the role he played in Igbinedion’s government if he wants to contest election in Edo State.
