BENIN CITY—Elders and leaders of Urhonigbe community in Orhiomwon Local Government Council of Edo State, have disowned the lawmaker representing Orhiomwon South constituency in the state House of Assembly, Mr. Friday Ogierakhi, for decamping to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from the All progressives Congress, APC.

The leaders accused the lawmaker of selling the mandate given to him to the PDP following his decamping to the PDP without their consent.

Loyalists of the lawmaker in ward 8 including the ward executives were received into the APC by the Deputy Governor of the state, Dr Pius Odubu, in a rally held in front of the residence of the lawmaker.

Chief Edosa Iyegunmwena and John Ogbeiwi who  led the defectors, claimed the traditional head and elders had informed Ogierkhiahi that they could not be ungrateful to the projects sited in their domain by the Governor Adams Oshiomhole led APC government in the state, therefore declared that the entire Urhonigbe would remain APC.
