ABUJA—The Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme, SURE-P, has contributed N78 billion towards the execution of the 338 kilometre-long East-West dual carriageway project.

Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr. Stephen Oru, who disclosed this while receiving a delegation led by Professor Kunle Wahab, member of the Board of SURE-P in charge of the East-West Road Project and infrastructure development, commended Sure-P for the funding.

The minister also said his ministry would seek funding totaling N126 billion in 2015 from SURE-P for other projects in the Niger Delta area.
He emphasised that “without your support, the East-West Road project would come to a standstill. You turned out to be the backbone of this project and even the backbone of the President’s Transformation Agenda.”
