By TOMMY  ANADUAKA

Ahead of 2015 polls, a senatorial aspirant and former House of Representatives member representing Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency, Hon. Pascal Nwaoranine Adigwe, in this interview speaks on why Aniocha should produce the next Delta North  senator and his chances.

pascalAdigwe  from Ogbeogudei quarters of Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South local government area of Delta State, also speaks on his plans for Delta North if elected.

We are informed you are seeking the support of your people to become senator in 2015. Can you throw more light on this?
Your source is correct. The name Pascal Nwaoranine Adigwe rings a bell in the political circle as well as other sectors in Delta North, the state and  the country. I am home grown and have firsthand experience and seen sensibilities of the circumstance, needs and aspirations of my people, as well as  driven by a fervent desire to better the  lot of the people of Delta North.

Why are you seeking the mandate of your people to represent them in the Senate having  represented Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives?

It is true I represented  Aniocha/Oshimili in the House of Representatives where my service is clear  for all to see. I decided to go  to the upper level of the National  Assembly where I am sure my experience would be fully utilized to provide an effective, resourceful and capable representation as a platform for the economic and social transformation of Delta North, Delta-State and  Nigeria.

My mission is to champion the interest and galvanise the unity and resourcefulness of my people for the promotion of the economic, social and infrastructural development of  Delta North.

My reasons for seeking the senatorial seat are as follows: To provide a credible and result-oriented representation and platform for the economic and social transformation of the entire district leveraging on my considerable experience and record of quality service; the necessity to galvanise the unity and resourcefulness of our people in teamwork and under the auspices of the PDP to advance peace and progress of Delta North; equity and justice  demand representation at the senate by the Aniocha block (where I come from ) after representations by Ndokwa by Senator Patrick Osakwe, Oshimili by Senator Nosike Ikpo and Senator Francis Nwajei, Ika by Senator Mrs. Bernice Ken and Senator Ifeanyi  Okowa with none from Aniocha.

This is the time for me to be appreciated by my party as an  advocate of justice, fairplay and equity.
Can you highlight your stewardship during your period in the House of Representatives?

I was elected with an overwhelming majority to represent  Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency from 2003 to 2007 where I displayed  excellent service marked by the delivery of numerous projects and human development opportunities for my people.

sNotable among these include: sponsorship of over 50 youths in higher education in various fields of studies which is still on-going, employment scouting and placement of over 50 young graduates, non-graduates and beyond from my constituency into ministries, departments and agencies of the Federal Government as well as in the private companies.

Attraction of Ogwashi-Uku Dam project through the dragged effort as a then federal legislator.

This dam on completion will supply water and electricity to many towns and villages in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.
During my tenure, I fought and got the enlistment of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency to benefit from NDDC programmes and projects.

I continue to be a major voice and mobiliser for economic transformation, humanistic development, people oriented policies, electoral reforms and poverty alleviation.

What have been your contributions to the PDP?

I am a  faithful PDP member. I am a strategic party worker, a dynamic grassroots mobiliser and charismatic campaigner. I have a superlative record of tenacious and result-oriented service to PDP at national, state and even local and ward levels which resulted in heading various positions in the party including being chief presidential returning agent for 2011 presidential general elections (Delta State), Secretary 2012 PDP National Congress Appeal Panel, Yobe State, chief governorship returning agent for 2011 governorship election and that of senatorial election.

Also, I was the chairman, committee on logistics and protocol, Delta State government census (2003 – 2007).
As a senatorial aspirant in Delta North in 2011, I stepped down for (Dr.) Okowa and served as one of the leaders of his campaign and then his returning officer.
