Drogba on bench again as Yepes wins 100th cap

BRASÍLIA  (AFP) – Ivory Coast football legend Didier Drogba found himself once again on the bench for his side’s second World Cup final Group C match with Colombia in Brasilia on Thursday.

Drogba, scorer of 65 goals for the Elephants, made an instant imapct when he came on in the opening game with Japan his physical presence contributing to the two goals that saw his side come back to win 2-1.

Another veteran Colombian captain Mario Yepes celebrated his 100th cap and the 38-year-old was hugged by several of the Ivory Coast players prior to walking out onto the pitch.

Colombia also won their opening game, 3-0 against Greece.
