Man, 50, arraigned for obtaining N2.7m car by trick

The police, yesterday, arraigned a car dealer, Vincent Omelebele, 50, before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court, sitting at Igbosere, for allegedly obtaining a car worth N2.7million under false pretence.

Omelebele, who resides at 71 Palm Avenue, Mushin, Lagos, is standing trial before Magistrate Joy Ugbomoiko.

The defendant, is facing a three-count charge, bordering on conspiracy, obtaining by false pretence and stealing, preferred against him, by the police. The prosecutor, Inspector Stephen Molo, told the court that the defendant conspired with one other person at large, to commit the offences in December 2011, at Aguda Surulere area of the state.

Molo, said that Omelebele obtained a Toyota Camry Car 2008 Model with Engine/ Chassis number ATIBE46K88U224319 worth N2.7 million under the pretext of selling it and remitting the proceed of the car, to the owner, Maria Nobel.
