Jos — The new Director-General of the Industrial Training Fund, ITF, Mrs. Juliet Chukkas-Onaeko has pledged to key into the National Industrial Revolution Programme, NIRP, train to create jobs for about two million skilled youths in the country.

She spoke shortly after the former director general,  Prof. Longmas Wapmuk, handed over the affairs of the ITF to her.
She said: ”My expectation is for us as an organisation to key into the NIRP and NEDEP programmes of the Federal Government and this calls for collaboration with all parties to deliver on this mandate.”

She, however, solicited the cooperation of the staff in “developing need-based training programmes that would drive the economy to create more jobs, develop competences of youths to be self-reliant and self-employed.”
Earlier, Prof Wapmuk had said that he left over N10 billion in the coffers of ITF.

Wapmuk also stated that the Fund was currently focusing on Technical Vocational Training, hence the construction of two mobile workshops to boost the idea.
