3rafique campaigns against malaria

The fight against malaria continued last week in Lagos with a 2-day philanthropic campaign initiative by 3rafique Communication which offered free testing and treatment for malaria at Silverbird Galleria, Victoris Island.

The Chief Executive Officer, 3rafique Communication, Irabor Okosun hinted that the exercise was a social responsibility to the society.

The initiative tagged, “Join The Cast” is a commitment to eliminate malaria.

“Although, 25th of April every year is a chance to shine a spotlight on the global effort to control malaria and our organization is uniting with the World Malaria Day theme. “Invest in the future: defeat malaria” to call attention to the need to reach the 2015 Millennium Development Goals and defeat malaria in the future.”

Over 2,000 people benefited from the exercise to mark this year’s World Malaria Day.

Okosun said the focus is to reduce malaria morbidity and mortality through proper knowledge and education.

He stated that the theme. “Invest in the future: defeat malaria” called to action on the need to reach the 2015 Millennium Development Goals, MDGs and defeat malaria.

He regretted that even as malaria can be prevented and is curable, it still claims the life of an African child every 45 seconds. Other activities lined include; a novelty football match in partnership with Ali Baba GCFR, Good Knight insecticide, Society for Family Health billed to hold later in the month.
