The Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, the umbrella body of the Urhobo nation, is billed to honour Mrs. Comfort Omoko, who served for over two decades in the London Metropolitan Police.
UPU, in a statement by Mr. Godwin Etakibuebu, one of the organisers of the awards ceremony, described Mrs. Omoko as “a great ambassador of the Urhobo nation to the West.”
The statement noted that the Evwreni-born Omoko, 68, who holds a London Diploma in Home Economics and Hygiene, led a distinguished career in Europe and also won awards and laurels even from the Queen of England.
The event will be attended by an array of traditional rulers in Urhoboland as well as top government officials including the elite corps of the Urhobo nation.
