Okiro, others solicit support for national confab

Former Inspector General of Police, Mike Okiro, has urged Nigerians to support the ongoing National Conference in Abuja, saying the slow pace of development in the country was due to lack of understanding in the political system.

Okiro and others, who spoke at a public presentation of a book, entitled, ‘God’s Promise For Every Situation,’ written by Pastor David Itula, a senior Area Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Abuja, contended that the outcome of the National Conference would set a new agenda for the country.

They urged the general public to shun criticising the confab, stating that it was too early to criticise it.
“The delegates are still building a foundation and the outcome of the foundation will determine the building of the country,” they said.

Okiro, who was represented by his Special Assistant, Austin Obaedo CP (rtd), urged “the good people of Nigeria to acquire a copy of the book each for their children to read as they grow. They will not depart from word of God since they are the leaders of tomorrow.”
